Definition - Aloneness

Aloneness: of being alone; unaccompanied.

A feeling of being unconnected. Many times felt even while surrounded, arising from some misunderstanding, or incomprehension.

Curiously enough aloneness is a chosen sentiment; in a planet with billions of people, animals and plant life; feeling alone can only come from an individuals miss-adjustment to a surrounding he cannot / dare not change.

And yet it seems to be the most common thing in the world, to feel alone. While most would not choose it, as you say we do choose it. Aren't we paradoxical!

Sometimes, paradoxically as well,
you can also feel completely involved and interwoven
when being physically alone.

I guess were fun that way!

que raro es querer sentirse solo para luego querer sentirse acompañado....

1. Can one really "Choose" feelings? Or just adapt to them, or convince ourselves... like, when we're kids and genuinely afraid of spiders, we just remind ourselves they are small little insects but still feel we dislike them?
2. I've learned a different definition for aloneness. One that defines it as the result of having reached a higher level of awareness. More so: "the unavailability of someone to communicate with at your level of awareness". (...)

I see it as something very different from being or feeling "alone"... which could be a chosen status. One most people are as genuinely afraid of, as they are of spiders...

I don't know about the level of awareness thing... I know what you mean; but it's not that simple.

And yes; regarding one's emotions outside of choice does extend the meaning just like you say; but no one likes to think they are controlled by their emotions... :D
